Homemade soups and beans and rice are the best for your health but on days when you haven't had time to cook...here are some alternatives. Look for soups that are vegetarian like Lentil or Caribbean Style Black beans and Rice.
You are right about the good chopper. I bought a pricy one when my Pampered Chef chopper bit the dust. The pricy one is already in the garbage. Do you have a chopper you love? Kathy
I love the Vidalia Chop Wizard in the picture...it is great for big things like onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, etc. I use the other chopper for herbs and cilantro.
I bought the Vidalia Chop Wizard on-line for $19.99. After I bought it I did read about a good idea: it is sold at Bed Bath and Beyond, and if you wait for the 20% off coupon that is mailed every month then you can save almost $4. Kathy
While Jillian was visiting for the Holiday's she said that she wanted to start a blog about something she was "passionate" about...she challenged me to do the same. So here it is! About a year ago Mike and I started a 21 day "vacation" for our digestive system. We LOVED it so much that 21 days stretched into months. We lost weight but most importantly we felt so much better. We go off our "vacation" occasionally for Holidays and company but we find that we are always ready to get back on this way of eating. It is amazing after all the Diets we have tried over the years(and believe me we've tried them ALL) we don't ever call this a Diet or feel like it is a Diet...when we go off we really can't wait to get back on and start feeling healthy again.
Some of my favorite things: Mike, my family, cooking, reading a good book, watching a TV series we are following together, trying new recipes, bargain shopping, Indian Food-cooking it AND eating it, travel.

No, I just bought this one at Ross for $6 when my Pampered Chef chopper melted in the dishwasher. :-)
